Peter Shallcross

Director

Peter is a dairy farmer based in Tisbury, Wiltshire. He has a passion for wildlife conservation and regenerative farming practices. There are 220 crossbred and Norwegian Red Cross dairy cows on the farm, as well as arable land. He is participating in the Mid-Tier stewardship scheme and has planted hedges along almost all the farm's boundaries and created different habitats for wildlife. He is currently the chair of the local Natural History Society, chair of the local branch of the NFU and represents the South West region on the NFU environmental Forum. Elm trees are also his passion and hobby, to provide a habitat for the white letter hairstreak butterfly. He is trying regenerative farming practices to be more sustainable, has stopped ploughing grassland and now has permanent pasture with herbal lays.
