Our Third Share Offer

Following NCE’s very successful share offers in 2015 and 2018, which raised a combined total of about £600,000 to put solar panels on 10 farm/commercial buildings and five schools in the Nadder Valley, we are now hoping to raise a further £315,000 to do the same with six schools on the north-west fringes of our area in Shaftesbury, Sherborne and Wincanton. This would bring our total solar generating capacity to nearly one whole megawatt of fossil-free, renewable energy, equivalent to a reduction of about 480 metric tonnes of CO2 a year, making a substantial contribution to Net Zero.

We hope to soon be able to invite our members, supporters, friends and anyone who is concerned about the climate crisis and who would like to invest ethically to consider buying some of this new issue of shares in Nadder Community Energy. Investors can expect a target interest rate of 5%; the participating schools will benefit from cheaper electricity; any surplus money will be spent on initiatives that benefit the local community; and the planet will stand a better chance of reaching Net Zero carbon emissions.

We are still going through the very lengthy process of securing the various approvals and legal agreements, and we hope to be in a position to invite applications in May.
